Notice from the Department of Child Nutrition

Posted Date: 1/08/25 (7:44 PM)

Federal law prohibits federally funded programs from accruing debt; therefore, a districtwide Student Charged Meals policy must be enforced to ensure compliance. As we enter the second semester, please make sure that if your child pays a full or reduced price for breakfast and lunch, that each child has sufficient breakfast/lunch money or brings a breakfast/lunch from home each day. Parents/guardians can check if their children currently have balances through their MySchoolBucks account. The department will also be sending reminders to check for balances through letters sent home with students, mail, social media, and other means of communication. If your child has a balance, please pay this balance as soon as possible. If your living situation (i.e. income, number in household) has changed, the Department of Child Nutrition recommends filling out a new lunch application to see if your child qualifies for free or reduced-price meals. These forms are available at all school sites and the LCSD Central Office.
