Lawrence County School District participates in an ongoing statewide effort to identify, locate, and evaluate children, birth through the age of twenty-one, who have a disability. Our Special Education program provides services to students who have been determined to have one or more disabilities.
Information gathered from parents and agencies helps LCSD to determine present and future program needs as progress is made toward the goal of providing free and appropriate public education to all children with disabilities.
Family members, physicians, and educators, as well as representatives of various agencies such as the local Head Start, Department of Human Services, Department of Health and Mental Health agencies, and local educational agencies may make referrals of out of school and in school who may need special education services.
Please contact Celdric McDowell, Child Find Contact Person, if you know of any child who may have a disability. Mr. McDowell may be reached using the contact information listed below.
